Frock 1806-1809

22Jan09

Or maybe 1876?  E is going to a Little House on the Prairie-themed birthday party this weekend.  I can’t bring myself to make (or find) a prairie dress because this book has been calling my name.  This ‘frock’  is made from some ancient curtains – I have had to iron-in bits of interfacing to reinforce some uber-fragile sections.  Aside from that, it was very easy to make.  We will have to farm-it-up for the party with a rugged bonnet.

    K. You ARE so the Mother of the year! You actually sewed your daughter a dress to wear to the party! Omigod – you are my hero! (and E’s too, I bet!)

  2. So pretty – those curtains are the perfect fabric for the dress – did you feel a bit like Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music?
